Dr William Rassman says that men with hair are more confident than their balding counterparts and are, therefore, more likely be taken on as an employee. Rassman claims that employers also favour men with a full head of hair over men with bald heads.
Jobs in the performing arts and in politics are particularly sensitive to the amount of hair a man has - there has not been a bald US president since Eisenhower.
Luckily, if you suffer from baldness there are measures you can take to help. The new drug, Propecia, is now widely available and is affective in preventing the build-up of Dihydrotestosterone, which causes male pattern baldness.
Hair transplants are also an option but make sure you go to a qualified surgeon and, if you can, see the results of his work yourself.
